The tourist information and services area operates through the tourist offices with the mission to:

  • Meet the requests for information from visitors (tourists, travellers and residents in Bilbao and Bizkaia), in person or remotely.
  • Promote and publicise the most important and characteristic places in the city of Bilbao, offering tours with professional guides.
  • At the same time, guaranteeing the equality of opportunities in the access and use of the facilities and services provided.

Services

In-person Information and Services

Bilbao has two permanent tourist information offices: one in the Plaza Circular and the other next to the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum. The offices offer their services in six different languages: Spanish, Euskera, English, French, German and Italian.

The offices deal with queries and requests for information about Bilbao, Bizkaia and Euskadi or other tourist destinations. They offer information about the Bilbao Bizkaia Tourist Card and about tourist products and companies. They also provide the necessary tourist documentation: Map of Bilbao, guided visits, tourist transport, information about accommodation in the city, museums, cultural activities, cuisine, active tourism, etc.

In addition, the city has itinerant tourist information points at public events, fairs and at the cruise ship bus stop.

Remote Information and Services

Bilbao Turismo also attends to enquiries and requests for non-presential tourist information: by telephone, WhatsApp, Livechat, post and e-mail.

Guided tours of Bilbao on foot

This service aims to offer information and promote Bilbao, as well as presenting the most representative parts of the City, at the hands of top professional guides.

Two routes are available:

  • Casco Viejo: Discover Bilbao of the Middle Ages, the cobbled streets, city quarters, squares and charming corners, witnesses of the intense commercial and port activities that helped the city to grow.
  • Ensanche-Abandoibarra: Discover the progress of architecture and urbanism in Bilbao, from the 19th century to today. This takes a look at the heart of a city which combines tradition with innovation.
