Initiating a path towards the circular economy is crucial to help lay the foundations for a more sustainable and resilient future of the city’s economic development. That is why we have decided to develop and implement the Bilbao Ekintza Circular Economy Roadmap, recognising its strategic importance for our organisation and for society in general.
The Roadmap is structured around three key areas of action: knowledge generation, positioning of the city and good management practices. Through training programmes, technical advice, awareness-raising campaigns and innovation projects, we seek to provide local agents with the necessary tools to adopt circular practices. In addition, we reinforce Bilbao’s identity as a benchmark in circular economy, participating in international networks and promoting collaboration with other global actors.
This plan also includes the implementation of specific initiatives within the management of Bilbao Ekintza, optimising resources and minimising environmental impact. The adoption of circular practices in the organisation of events and internal management reflects our commitment to a more sustainable and resilient future.
