Mugi Adin is an experimental programme financed by Bilbao City Council through the AURRERA PLAN, the aim of which has been to promote Open and Collaborative Innovation processes to solve challenges to the situation generated by COVID-19, while supporting entrepreneurship.
The project, led by Bilbao Ekintza together with the SSI Group, has had the participation of the companies that form part of the Silver Economy Taldea (SET) entrepreneurial community, as well as the collaboration of the UPV/EHU’s Ageing on research group.
The aim of the project has been to design and pilot an innovative programme of activities aimed at maintaining the functional capacity of frail elderly people during the pandemic period.
This pilot experience has been carried out between April and July 2021 in three neighbourhoods of Bilbao (Deusto, Zurbaranbarri and Santutxu) and a total of 32 people have participated in it.
The main activity consisted of physical activity sessions to work on strength, balance and endurance, together with other activities such as mental gymnastics, mindfulness, laughter therapy, affective workshops and forest baths.
Finally, the process developed has been successfully evaluated and its economic, financial and market viability has been analysed.
